The local community Stanley Post Office has been up and running for just over a month now, staffed by around 20 volunteers. Leelu has been having a lovely time visiting and receiving attention from all and sundry...

Our hit-and-miss carrot seeds have finally come up trumps, producing a gorgeous crop right next door to the vibrant beetroots. And when these beauties are pulled up fresh from the garden, it's great to be able to put the whole vegetable into a dish, carrot tops and all... from garden to bowl in about 10 minutes!

Is there a better aroma than baking bread? Well... maybe brewed coffee.... but then, why not have both at the same time! Here's an easy recipe that we've been using for the past few months, takes about 10 minutes of effort for a whole lot of pleasure...

The thing about doing a hard day's work in the garden is...

Surely it's a sin not to eat an apple every day when they're so round and rosy and ripe and sweet and crisp and right there in the backyard! This is the harvest from our best tree, what we believe is a lovely Fuji (many thanks to previous owners Stuart and Eunice for having the foresight to plant an orchard all those years ago).

And better than going to the supermarket too...
