Leanne spent much of her childhood on the banks of the Murray River, first in Euston, NSW, where her parents bought the local hotel, then later in Gol Gol and Mildura.

At age seven, she was heard tinkling away on the old pub piano by a local music teacher, and promptly started lessons.  Next came dance classes, and so began the whirlwind life of country eisteddfods, exams and concerts, music books, tutus, pointe shoes, lycra, sequins, hairspray and blue eye-shadow.

Graduating from Melbourne Uni with a B.Mus.Ed.(Hons), she taught classroom music for a number of years, then decided to become a children’s puppeteer in 1999, and a singer/songwriter in 2002 (with a bit of painting on the side).

She’s been at it ever since.

Listen to Leanne's entry for The Great Country Pub Song Contest, The Publican's Dream, played at the finalists' concert in Tamworth on 20th January 2011.
